2. Ask how they will identify the issue

Describe what you have seen without treating a guess as a confirmed identification. Ask whether an inspection is needed and whether its fee is included in the written quote.

3. Get the scope in writing

• The pest and areas the proposal covers.
• The method, number of visits, and expected preparation.
• What happens if activity continues after the first visit.
• Any exclusions, repair work, or extra charges.
• Cancellation terms and any recurring commitment.

4. Make the plan fit your household

Discuss children, pets, access needs, and any household constraints directly with the professional. Ask for clear instructions about preparation and when spaces can be used again.

5. Keep a useful record

Save the written proposal, service notes, and your observations. Use the same description when you compare quotes so you are comparing equivalent work.
